Velocity Invitational 2025 Postponed

A Wednesday morning, April 23, 2025 communication to entrants opened with: "We have made the difficult decision to postpose the 2025 Velocity Invitational to 2026 due to economic conditions impacting multiple elements of the event."  Further comments included: "We promise that Velocity Invitational will return bigger, better and stronger.  In the meantime, please stay tuned - we"ll be announcing other exciting ways that the Velocity team will continue to bring the best of car culture to you throughout 2025 and 2026."

Historic Formula Junior 2025 US Vintage Racing Season Opens June 6-8 with Velocity Invitational Sonoma Raceway

Formula Juniors are one of 9 scheduled historic features at this top vintage racing event.  A field of 24 historic cars from the 1959-1963 FIA international class for aspiring F1 drivers will be celebrating the 65th Anniversary of this first F1 "ladder" series.  The field is full of original cars built in USA, UK, France and Germany including: Lotus, Brabham, Dolphin, Cooper, Stanguelini, Huffaker and Deutsch Bonnet.

The celebrations include races, in-paddock parties and special achievement recognitions.

It's Springtime In The Rockies and RMVR First 2025 Vintage Race Arrives April 26-27 at Pueblo

Celebrations start with an optional Friday lapping day on Pueblo Motorsport Park's 2.2 mile 10 turn road racing circuit.  Saturday and Sunday all current RMVR classes are scheduled extra season opening track and race time.  An added invited group is the Faster Formula and Sports Racing Class.  RMVR racer event hospitality starts Friday evening with the usual individual race group gatherings.  It revs up Saturday evening with The Great Southwestern Buffet Dinner opened with pot luck cocktails and Chad's Band entertainment.

Two Vintage Racing Events in California Weekend of April 11-13 

At Sonoma Raceway CSRG's annual David Love Vintage Races will have several feature races in addition to races for all CSRG classes.  Spectators invited free entry.  Info www.csrgracing.org.

At the Long Beach IndyCar Grand Prix 50th Anniversary races one support feature is the HMSA organized display and on-track exhibition of Historic F5000, F1 and Indy/CART cars that were the main event in turn as it grew.  Info: indycar.com.

VSCCA 2025, Vintage Races, Rallies, Autocross, Intro to Racing, Hillclimbs, Tours, Socials

VSCCA is a New England vintage car club that organizes a variety of activities including six vintage races.  It is the first US vintage racing club, organized in 1958.  The next big VSCCA vintage race car weekend is at Lime Rock Park May 2-3 with a full schedule of races, drivers school, special Driven to Race Autocross, and Preservation class for track day style laps.

VCDA Season Finale Vintage Races December 13-15 Roebling Road

The last vintage racing weekend in the US is three days full of vintage racing and fun.  Friday is full of practice, qualifying and races, plus the Bracket Challenge Team Race.  Saturday is qualifying and Feature Races followed by a special dinner.  Sunday has a Vintage Enduro followed by afternoon Sprint Races.  All that for only $450 entry which closes Friday December 6th.

VDCA Veterans Day Historics, November 9-10 Road Atlanta, Test Day 8th

Track time and more track time on one of North Americas great circuits is on offer during a friendly VDCA weekend.

Practice, qualifying race Saturday morning and early afternoon for each of 5 Groups.  Five Saturday Feature Races begin mid-afternoon.  Saturday 5:30 pm dinner is included.

Sunday starts with an Enduro, then Sunday races and Sunday Feature Races through 4:30.

PreWar Car Rally Oct 19, New Hampshire Coast by VSCCA and American Bugatti Club, Entries Open

Late entries are only $30 for pre-war sports and touring cars.  The 120 mile route will start in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.  It includes a visit to the New England Racing Museum.  A lunch stop is invluded during the route of pre-war friendly roads.

Thunder In The Ozarks Oct 10-13 Vintage Race Weekend by VSCDA, CVAR & RMVR

The new Ozarks International Raceway is a fast flowing, wide, first class road racing circuit.  It is set in the scenic Lake of The Ozarks resort area about 2 hours tow east from St Louis and 3 hours tow west from Kansas City Missouri.  Several circuit configurations include this weekend's 3.97 mile, 19 turn, multiple elevation layout.  Multiple feature races, practice sessions and qualifying races over three days, entry is $685, optional Thursday Test and Tune day is $275.  A Friday night and Saturday night Three Club Celebration Dinner is included for drivers, extra tickets are $30 each night.  A special focus is multi-club sportsmanlike competition and comradeship of racing in the 1950s.

October Vintage Racing Events in VA, OK, CA, CO, MO, NV, FL, TX

The first weekend October 3-6 there are four of the eight October vintage racing events.

 SVRA with Speed Tour is at Virginia International Speedway Thursday through Sunday. 

CVAR Thunder on The Cimarron is at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit on Friday through Sunday in Oklahoma. 

Velocity Invitational is at Sonoma Raceway in California, Friday through Sunday. 

RMVR Fall Sprints Vintage Races are at Pueblo Raceway in Colorado, Saturday and Sunday.

Three Vintage Races The Last Weekend in September

VSCCA on Friday and Saturday is at Lime Rock Park for The Fall Finale - The Lichfield Cup.

VARAC's Fall Classic is Friday - Sunday at Circuit Mt Tremblant, a spectacular mountain location.  

The SOVREN Fall Finale is Saturday and Sunday at Pacific Raceways.

Vintage Races This Weekend In New York State and California Span the US

September 20-22 Watkins Glen International road racing circuit in the finger lakes area hosts the Vintage Racing Group, VRG for a full weekend of vintage racing.

September 21-22 Buttonwillow Raceway in Central California hosts the Vintage Auto Racing Association, VARA, for their annual Oktoberfest vintage racing event. There are special invites to Porsche, BMW, Audi and other German vintage race cars.  There is a big Saturday evening Oktoberfest party.

VSCDA Sept 13-15, Ariens Art On Wheels A Spectacular Vintage Racing Healey World Challenge Weekend

It's the largest gathering of vintage Healeys and Austin Healeys, plus over 350 vintage racing cars competing on North America's greatest road racing circuit, in the Elkhart Lake area's best time of the year.

Each vintage racing car participant enjoys two to three times on track each of the three days, including in several features.  A special 50 car display of legendary Healeys, 100 Austin Healey Conclave registered Healeys and Austin Healeys in a display paddock, over 50 vintage Healeys racing plus special Healey race viewing corrals around the 4 mile circuit are all organized with the 2024 Austin Healey Conclave.

VDCA Hurricane In Savannah September 14-15 Roebling Road, GA Entry $300

VDCA emphases racing in the spirit of vintage racing sportsmanship and entrant socials.  The Saturday schedule is for max track time in practice, qualifying and three sprint races for each race group followed by an at-track dinner.  Sunday morning is the traditional one hour Enduro with the afternoons filled with sprint races.  

The Roebling Road circuit, with 9 turns is novice friendly, yet challenging for experienced vintage racers.  The weekend fee is a bargain $300 for early registration by 11:00 p.m. September 6th.

Porsche Featured, Put-In-Bay Vintage Races September 17-19, South Bay Island, OH

It's a celebration of the sports car races held here in 1952-1963.  There are vintage races on Tuesday through Thursday along with parties, car shows, drivers school, the famous Rocker Cover Races and track tours for spectators.  It's all in the spirit of 1950s club road racing.  "It's more enjoyment and fellowship than any other vintage race event" is a common racer report.

Pre-Historics Vintage Races Aug 10-11 Laguna Seca Open Monterey Car Week 2024

Monday opens a busy week starting with the three day Automobilia Collectors Expo.  The week, including Saturday, is filled with concours, car shows, marque gatherings, and private parties.  The Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion vintage and historic races began on Wednesday and run through Saturday.  It is live streamed at Goodwood Road & Racing on YouTube.  Pebble Beach Concours on Sunday August 18 ends the big week.  Schedules and details online at many websites including www.whatsupmonterey.com.  Victory Lane Magazine's September issue will have full detailed reports on the races and Pebble Beach Concours in a few weeks.
