Put In Bay Vintage Races and Festival Sept 19-21, 2023 Features Sports Sedans, Sports Cars and Japanese Marques

The Trans Am 2 liter/B Sedan/2.5 Challenge features are organized with the cooperation of Steve and Chris Bonk and their VSCDA series.  the Japanese marque features include cars built before 1980.  Celebrated marques include:  Nissan/Datsun, Honda, Mazda and Toyota and more.

This event celebrates the through-the-streets and airfield races on South Bay Island Ohio in the late 1950s and 1960s.  Especially welcome are sports cars of those times.  The event is known for good racing, fellowship, hospitality and club racing atmosphere.

Vintage Racing Events Celebrate Racing Anniversaries in 2023

March 31-April 2 VDCA/VRG 21st Wild Hare Run Vintage Races Virginia International Raceway
Registration Now Open

The annual three-day vintage racing weekend is at one of North America's great racing circuits.  It is organized by VDCA with special VRG cooperation.  There is a goal of liberal track time, camaraderie, fun but sportsmanlike competitive racing in both sprint, enduro and the special Friday Wild Hare Run.

Friday has two practice and qualifying sprint races for each group and starting at 5:30 p.m. the All Comers Wild Hare Run, an Australian Pursuit type race, followed by a welcome party at SASCO's facility.  Saturday has morning races and afternoon feature races for all groups.  A special Saturday dinner is held in the Gallery starting at 5:30 p.m.

Sunday opens with the 9:45 to 11:00 a.m. VDCA/VRG Enduro followed by sprint races for all groups including a Formula Ford Challenge.

Del Monte Group Salutes Pebble Beach Race Cars March 24-26 With CSRG

The CSRG David Love Vintage Races at Sonoma Raceway hosts the Del Monte Trophy Race Group Cars of 1950-1955.  This is the first vintage racing weekend of five in 2023 for this impressive group of over 20 cars honoring the Pebble Beach Road Races of 1950-1955.

The CSRG David Love Vintage Races is an annual spectacular weekend with over 200 vintage race cars from 1903 through the 1970s.  Spectators are invited.  In addition to the Del Monte Group Feature, other vintage racing features include USRRC Tribute for the 60th Anniversary of SCCAs first pro road racing series of 1963-1968.  The Under 2 liter/2.5 Challenge Trans Am Sport Sedans are also a popular feature race group.  The Crossflow Cup features for the quick Formula Fords provide exciting races.  There are races for all CSRG groups to display racing history at speed.

VRCBC British Columbia Historic Motor Races May 13-14, 2023 Mission Raceway Canada

Historic and vintage racers from Canada and US invited.  this is Western Canada's biggest vintage motorsport event.  Spectators are invited.  It has been held since 1981 in Southwestern Canada just across the border with Washington state.  It traditionally attracts VRCBC members and many SOVREN members to enjoy weekend races and VRCBC event hospitality.  Also, included is a special Field of Dreams and automobilia booths in the spectator area to add to the festive atmosphere.

Practice, qualifying and racing is Saturday.  Special Feature races for all groups are Saturday afternoon.  Sunday opens with a 9:30 am Enduro followed by Group races through 2:30 pm.  
Visiting vintage racers are welcome to join VDCA and enjoy a great weekend of vintage racing.

March 24-26 CVAR Invites Formula Vees for 60th Anniversary, Hallett, OK

Corinthian Vintage Auto Racing club is holding a Formula Vee Birthday Celebration at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit March 24/25/26th.  All registered Formula Vee entrants will get a commemorative T shirt upon check in.  This is a Vintage Only event but any Formula Vee that was built Pre-1976 is accepted.  There will be a full day of practice on Friday and you will get a full 4 races as well as the standalone Art Summerville Formula Vee Feature Race.  That is a lot of track time! There will be a party Saturday night so come celebrate with us!  This will also be a regular CVAR race weekend and will have classes for just about any vintage race car so bring your friends.

International Vintage Trans Am 2 Liter/B Sedan/2.5 Challenge Sports Sedans Featured Put-In-Bay Sports Car Races September 19-21, 2023

These vintage small sports sedans have been popular in road racing since the 1950s.  Popular marques include Mazda, Honda, Datsun/Nissan, Toyota, BMW, Lotus, Alfa Romeo, Renault, Corvair and VW.  Small sports cars and sports racing cars also have exciting races on the schedule.  Japanese marques are the events Feature Marque.

The event celebrates the original races from 1952-1959 and 1963 held on both through-the-streets and airfield circuits on South Bay Island Ohio.  The PIB vintage races and related festivities have been held annually since 2012.

Kastner Cup Celebrates 70 years of Triumph Racing, Road America WeatherTech International Challenge, July 13-16

This year's Kastner Cup celebrates the 1952 arrival of the Triumph TR2 in America and its immediate racing successes.  That was followed by decades of Triumph racing victories in TR3s, TR4s and later types.

This Triumph celebration is featured at the 2023 WeatherTech International Challenge with Brian Redman.  Practice is Thursday and Friday.  The Kastner Cup Race is Saturday, and the Triumph Reunion Race is Sunday.

Monoposto Racing 12 Vintage Race 2023 Schedule

Monoposto racing supports the racing of vintage single seat, open wheel racing cars in North America. Special races are organized on vintage club racing weekends.  The 2023 schedule follows:

Third Formula B 55th Anniversary Feature Nov 4-6, Thunderhill with CSRG

The FB anniversary celebration began at Indianapolis in June, continued in September at Road America and will have the third 2022 celebration at Thunderhill Raceway Park with CSRG's final 2022 vintage race.

The 1967 Continental Grand Prix Series was SCCA's first professional formula series.  The fast, quick, nimble Formula B cars with some 180 horsepower, 1600 cc twin cam engines, in a 900 pound car dominated the series for Formula A (3 liter F1) B, C (Formula Junior) cars.  Gus Hutchinson in a Lotus 41b sealed the 1967 five race Drivers Championship with a win over 35 cars at the Lake Tahoe Grand Prix in California.  The cars were combined with F5000 cars in the 1968 series and then had their own series.  They continue to be very popular in vintage racing.

Eight Vintage Racing Weekends Remain in 2022

There are vintage race weekends in Arizona, Texas, California, West Virginia, Florida and Georgia in October through early December.  Features include tributes to the Daytona 24, Formula B Continental Grand Prix Series, Big Bore Production Cars, Turkey Day, The Sebring 12 Hour and a celebration of the last Vintage Race Weekend of 2022. That is VDCA's December 9-11 party and race at Roebling Road Georgia.  The full schedule is in the accompanying October online issue of Victory Lane Magazine, page 65.

The British Are Coming! In 2023 Triumphs Featured at Road America, MGs at Lime Rock

The big July 14-16 2023 WeatherTech International Challenge vintage racing weekend and festival hosts the Kastner Cup for Triumphs.  More than 400 vintage racers will be racing during the weekend.

The 2023 Lime Rock Historics and Festival September 1-3 will celebrate the 100th Anniversary of MG cars organized by MG Vintage Racers.  This annual vintage racing weekend will host over 300 vintage racers and their cars.
